Art created for churches and liturgical events is at the heart and root of my practice so it feels right that October's exhibition in Poundbury includes a representation of that. I'll be bringing the two paintings below, both originals, mixed media, unframed on stretched canvas, 50x40cm, each £120. 15% goes to The Lantern Trust during the show, a charity which offers hope to marginalised and vulnerable people in Dorset.
Annunciation shows a rejoicing Mary over the words of the Magnificat and Kirie Eleison entreats 'Lord have mercy, Christ have mercy'.
These were experimental works made for my MA at Leeds College of Art (2017) which was an enquiry into whether spirituality can be embedded in art. Happy to discuss this and any other 'meaning of life' or 'how did you make that' questions at the opening of the Duchess exhibition next Monday night 30/9/24 from 6-8pm when hubby or a lovely daughter will pour you a glass of free fizz. Hope to see you there.
